Pre-Surgical Instructions for Dental Implants
Your comfort, safety, and long-term success are our priority. Please carefully follow all instructions provided by Dr. Hanna and the clinical team prior to your surgical appointment.
Before Surgery:
- Complete all required medical forms and review your health history with our team.
- Take all prescribed medications as directed by your doctor unless told otherwise.
- Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you to and from your appointment if sedation is being used. Keep in mind that a responsible adult must remain on the premises throughout the procedure.
- Do not consume alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to surgery.
- Avoid smoking or tobacco use before and after surgery, as this can negatively impact healing and implant success.
- Wear comfortable clothing to your appointment.
- Follow fasting instructions if sedation has been planned.
- Continue brushing and oral hygiene unless otherwise instructed by the clinical team.
IV Sedation Pre-Op Care
If you’re scheduled for treatment using IV sedation, this video will walk you through how to prepare beforehand, so your procedure goes smoothly and comfortably—including eating/drinking before your appointment, taking prescription medications, bringing a list of your medications, and planning to have a family member or friend available to drive you home.
